Government's accounting to the public; the Technical and Vocational Education Department presented its one-year achievements
The leadership of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority presented the achievements of this Authority in the government's accounting program to the public at the Center for Information and Government Media.
At the beginning of the program, Mr. Gholam Haidar Shahamat, the general directorate of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority, spoke about the importance of this authority.
He said that alongside the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Technical and Vocational Education Authority is responsible for educating young people and special groups in society.
Mr. Shahamat emphasized that currently, the Technical and Vocational Education Authority is the only institution that is engaged in training technical and vocational forces.
He also added that with the advancement of technology and changes in human life, the job market has also changed, and the Technical and Vocational Education Authority trains its workforce according to the needs of the job market.
Mr. Shahamat said, "After the end of the occupation, the country now has a serious need for a professional workforce in all sectors, and it is the responsibility of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority to meet this need."
The general directorate of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority then referred to the major achievements of this Authority in the past year and said that printing the Holy Quran in Braille for the blind is one of the achievements that this Authority has achieved for the first time.
He also mentioned other achievements such as drafting or revising technical and vocational regulatory documents by policy, establishing an innovation center to support inventors, developing a five-year strategy, creating electronic systems, creating a railway field and developing its educational curriculum, establishing an institute for tourism and hospitality, and reaching an agreement with "stay in Afghanistan" institution to transfer technical and vocational fields from Germany to Afghanistan.
Furthermore, according to Mr. Shahamat, lifting a year of demotion for graduates of technical and vocational centers to attract them to universities, working on creating a sample and standard institute, adapting a joint review program for technical and vocational centers, and holding capacity-building courses for Islamic Emirate Mujahideen are also among the achievements of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority in the past year.
In continuation of the program, Mawlavi Fazal-Rahman Fazil, the financial and administrative deputy of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority, presented the financial and administrative section of this Authority's report.
Mr. Fazil said that in the past year, the Technical and Vocational Education Authority has been able to estimate 50 of its own construction projects and complete some unfinished projects.
He added that some buildings of the technical and vocational centers that needed repair have been repaired. Also, to save budget and prevent waste of fuel and vehicles, the Technical and Vocational Education Authority has created a fuel tank in its courtyard. Mr. Fazil said that in the real estate section, the Technical and Vocational Education Authority has been able to register all its real estate and land assets in the government's real estate and land bank.
The financial and administrative deputy of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority stated that in addition to some of the seized or confiscated assets, the documents of this Authority have also been reviewed and sent to judicial authorities for recovery.
Regarding the budget, he said that the Technical and Vocational Education Authority has been able to effectively use its normal and developmental budget of about 1.5 billion Afghanis in the fiscal year 1401.
Similarly, Mowlavi Gholam Saeed Ehsas, the deputy of academic affairs of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority, spoke about the activities and achievements of this Authority in the academic section.
He said that the Technical and Vocational Education Authority has paid serious attention to its curriculum in the past year and has been able to renew the educational fields of the technical and vocational centers.
Mr. Ehsas added that in the past, some fields were taught in technical and vocational centers that were not necessary.
He also said that by reviewing technical and vocational fields, new fields have been created that are necessary for the country.
Mr. Ehsas mentioned that with the review of agricultural fields, Afghanistan is an agricultural country and needs skilled forces in the agricultural sector.
He said that the Technical and Vocational Education Authority has also worked on reviewing its electrical fields, and 80% of the work has been completed.
In addition, Mr. Ehsas added that commercial and religious fields have been created in the special education section for the visually impaired and hearing impaired.
Furthermore, the deputy of academic affairs of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority added that a technical team has been formed to effectively use the facilities and equipment of technical and vocational centers that have not been used for years, and this team is currently reviewing equipment and facilities.
He also spoke about the innovation center of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority and said that in the past, inventors were wandering around, but now a center has been created for their coordination and coherence. Mr. Ehsas added that so far, 150 projects have been registered at the innovation center of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority.
He said, "Projects that are necessary for the people are being worked on and completed." The deputy of academic affairs of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority also added that this Authority is working on a plan to provide access to technical and vocational education for addicts in addiction treatment centers.
