Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education Authority: Skilled workforce is essential in the hotel industry
Mowlavi Ghulam Heydar Shahamat, the head of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority, met with officials from the Ministry of Finance's state-owned hotels.
At the beginning of the meeting, Nasratullah Rahimi, the operational deputy of the state-owned hotels, spoke about the history and activities of the company.
Mr. Rahimi then stated that the hotel industry in the country is facing a shortage of skilled workforce.
He added that since the Technical and Vocational Education Authority is responsible for training skilled workers, there is a need to train workers in the hotel industry.
The operational deputy of the state-owned hotels suggested that an institute be established in the hotel industry.
Mowlavi Ghulam Heydar Shahamat, head of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority, welcomed this proposal and emphasized that a skilled workforce is essential in the hotel industry.
Mr. Shahamat stressed that all businesses, including hotels, should be standardized. According to him, with the standardization of the hotel industry, the tourism sector will also grow.
The Directorate of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority stated that meeting the needs of the job market in terms of human resources is one of the goals of this Authority.
It was agreed in this meeting that the issue of establishing an institute in that meeting hotel industry would be examined.
Mr. Shahamat assigned Mowlavi Nek Mohammad Nikmell, head of Planning and Coordination Strategy at the Technical and Vocational Education Authority, to discuss the establishment of a hotel institute with institutions collaborating with this Authority.
